Research Analyst Training. This training opportunity is available for a three-month period beginning each June, enabling recent graduates to work together on a Fannie Mae mortgage research project. Research Analysts will learn programming in the SAS language and develop analytical skills through research assignments and generating reports. They also will gain a strong understanding of the mortgage industry, specifically in property valuation, credit pricing, and automated underwriting. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to interview for a variety of open positions within the organization. Positions are located in our Washington, DC offices.
Position Qualifications: graduating seniors with majors in Liberal Arts, Economics, and Business who have an interest in learning and gaining practical training in economic modeling; superior communication skills and a goals-oriented mindset; no previous computer or business training or experience is required.
Audit Intern. Audit Interns spend 10 to 12 weeks during the summer assisting professional staff in auditing various aspects of Fannie Mae business operations through participation in projects of Single-Family Business, Finance, Housing and Community Development, Portfolio and Credit Analytics, and Technology divisions. Interns will develop skills in identification and mitigation of risks and evaluation of internal controls through review and documentation of business process and information system procedures and controls, and the communication of audit findings. Successful candidates can interview for a variety of positions within the department upon graduation. Positions are located in our Washington, DC offices.
Position Qualifications: BA/BS/MS/MA/MBA Degrees; majors in Accounting, Finance, Mathematics, Economics, Risk Management, Information Systems, or related fields; an interest in auditing as a possible career, or an interest in learning more about Fannie Mae and the secondary mortgage industry; strong analytical and communication skills.
Finance Intern. This opportunity serves as a pipeline for consideration as a Finance Accociate. Finance Interns can assist in one of many areas, including financial analysis, identification and assessment of risks and controls, business process re-design, project management, or preparation of internal and external financial reports. Select candidates will have the ability to learn about the business, further their accounting knowledge, and develop the skills necessary to be successful at Fannie Mae. Positions are located in our Washington, DC offices.
Position Qualifications: majors in Accounting, academically successful students with strong analytical skills, interest in obtaining a CPA license is encouraged.
