City College reflects the diversity and culture of San Francisco at its best. Established in 1935, the College has grown into one of the nation’s largest public colleges.
The City College of San Francisco is a large, urban community college offering Associate Degrees as well as non-credit educational experiences to more than 100,000 students each year. Made up of 10 campuses, City College is a place of affordable opportunity for individuals from the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond.
Associate degrees are granted in academic programs such as Broadcasting, Business, Computer Science, Culinary Arts, Engineering, Fashion, Graphic Communications, Health Care, Nursing, Physical Education and Dance, as well as Women’s Studies. The College’s Honors Program provides students an enhanced educational experience along with potential transfer and scholarship benefits. CCSF employs 815 full-time and 1,035 part-time faculty, 95 percent of whom have master’s degrees and nearly 250 holding doctorates.
City College has over 70 computer labs with about 2100 computers comprising Windows PCs and Macs.

Intensive English Program
More than 1200 students representing over 50 countries attend the college as full time students and more than 125 students per semester attend the intensive.
The IEP offers an intensive academic English program for students who have not yet achieved 473 on the TOEFL (or 152 on the computer-based test) score, 52 on iBT, or 4.5 on IELTS. The program prepares students to become effective, confident speakers of English in academic institutions and professional settings as well as in everyday life. The IEP's coordinator, student advisor and staff are always ready to assist students in reaching their goals.
The Intensive English Program is also designed to prepare students for the undergraduate (Academic Program) at City College of San Francisco.
