The English Language Institute (ELI) at Youngstown State University offers a non-credit intensive English program for students from around the globe. Classes are available to college-bound students, permanent residents, immigrants, and special interest groups. The Program provides five levels of classes – Introductory, Beginning, Intermediate, High Intermediate, Advanced. The are three terms per year – Fall (15 weeks), Spring (15 weeks), Summer (10 weeks). You can choose between full (23 hours per week) or part-time studies. Course offerings – Grammar, Reading/Writing, Listening/Speaking, TOEFL Preparation, Pronunciation. Conditional admission to YSU’s undergraduate program for ELI students who meet University entrance requirements is provided. Besides, there is a low student-teacher ratio 10:1.
