EICCD was established in 1965 by the Iowa General Assembly as one of 15 community college merged areas. Total enrollment of school is more than 7,000 students with approximately 4,000 enrolled in Associate in Arts / College Transfer programs and 3,000 enrolled in one of more than 40 career technology programs. EICCD is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. HLC accreditation means our programs meet or exceed the standards for academic excellence set for every public and private college in a 19-state region.

EICCD provides a number of programs for adults to brush up on reading, math, writing and English.
English Language Learners (ELL), English as a Second Language (ESL), English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). This Prep classes expand English communication skills for students who are not native English speakers. Classroom, small group and computer instruction are designed to promote reading, writing, listening, speaking, and pronunciation.
Students will learn about daily communication, conducting business and how to interact in the community. ESL classes at CCC, MCC, and CAC are non-credit, there is assistance to students who are interested in transferring to college credit ESL programs at Scott Community College.
Family Literacy - this program is designed for ESL students and their families. While the parents are studying English and citizenship their children have the opportunity to work on their reading and motor skills as well as having parent and child time together.
